Every Sunday we gather together to read God’s Word (the Bible) and to talk about how what Jesus has done radically transforms our lives and our world.

Jesus said that a bad tree cannot produce good fruit (Matt. 7:17-18). In view of this reality, Christians today face the same temptation that believers in Galatia did: seeking maturity through self-reliance. Yet when the apostle Paul described a life shaped by the gospel, he spoke of a harvest produced not by human effort alone but by the Holy Spirit’s power—a life in which God plants and prunes the virtues of Christlikeness in us. In this way, the fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23 (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control) is not a list of "good works" or "good deeds." It is a picture of the good character of Jesus himself, which is formed in his people (Gal. 4:19) as we abide in him like branches on a vine (John 15:5)
