The Power for Community

Every day we're conditioned in countless ways to think and act as individuals. From the shows that we watch to the songs we download (even when and where we watch or listen to them), the customizability of nearly everything has created the illusion that the desires of the individual are supreme. Some have even turned the gospel of Jesus into a message about how individuals can get into heaven...
But Jesus didn't die to rescue individuals.
Jesus died to create a community of people that treasures him above all else. Through his death and resurrection on our behalf he has abolished every self-righteous reason for exclusion and separation, uniting his followers under one Lord, one hope, one calling, and one common unity in the gospel.
